Ingredients

  • 1lb lean ground beef or turkey

  • 2 bell peppers, dice

  • 1/2 onion, chopped

  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes

  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce

  • 2 cups beef or chicken broth

  • 1/2 cup uncooked rice (white or brown

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • Salt & Pepper


Instructions

  1. First brown the ground meat in a pan for flavor with a tablespoon of olive oil or avocado oil, or your choice of oil. It does not have to be fully cooked at this point.

  2. Once browned, turn off the heat and allow to sit.

  3. Dice and chop all your remaining ingredients, along with the chicken or beef broth.

  4. Set your crockpot to 7-8 hours if on a low setting, or 3-4 hours on a high setting.

  5. Serve with delicious farmhouse bread or warm pitta bread.
